BatesServes Lewiston: Rebuilding Together Day of Service
95 Russell Street
Lewiston, ME 04240
BatesServes, our annual days of service, is back for 2024! Join us this spring for one of six meaningful service opportunities that continue our traditions of civic action and stewardship. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just starting out, we have something for you. Make a meaningful mark, have fun, and connect with Bobcats who share your passion for service.
Join our project volunteer Shanna Green in repairing homes for those in need. Rebuilding Together Lewiston/Auburn, with the help of volunteers including Bates students, faculty, and staff, will be working on houses in the area to provide necessary improvements for homeowners who cannot afford to do the work themselves.
The day will start with coffee and donuts at 7 a.m. in the Benjamin Mays Center, 95 Russell St., Lewiston, ME, and from there you’ll join a member of the board of RTLA at one of the project sites. We will leave to go to the project sites no later than 8 a.m. You will need to have a plan for your transportation to and from the project site. Breakfast and lunch are provided, as well as volunteer t-shirts.
Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit organization, started by the mother of Bates alum John Scott Johnson ‘04. Their mission – repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives. Since John Scott started the L/A chapter when he was a student at Bates, we’ve helped over 150 homeowners in the community.
