Bobcat Reads: We Should Not Be Friends
Bobcat Reads will be discussing We Should Not Be Friends: The Story of a Friendship by Will Schwalbe from May 24, 2024 through July 26.
We Should Not Be Friends by Will Schwalbe is a heartwarming memoir that follows the unlikely and transformative friendship between the author and his college classmate, Chris Maxey, over forty years. Initially, Will Schwalbe avoids the jocks on campus, but when he meets Chris, known as Maxey, they form a deep bond despite their differences. From Yale to New York City, Hong Kong, and beyond, their friendship weathers marriages, divorces, triumphs, and losses.
Schwalbe’s book is a touching exploration of human connection and the power of friendship to endure through life’s challenges and changes.
