About the Speakers:

Lance Matthiesen ’85 majored in Economics and was a member of the Men’s Basketball team. Lance is Vice President of Partnerships at Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT). In this role he leads the team that services the corporate, non-profit, and foundation partners that fund MLT’s leadership development fellowships, and recruit minority talent from its undergraduate, MBA and mid-career programs.

Jennifer Crawford ’01 majored in Political Science and was a member of the Women’s Softball Team. Since 2014, Jen has been a partner at the Boston law and lobbying firm, Smith, Costello & Crawford (“SCC”), one of the leading policy advocacy firms in Massachusetts. SCC represents a wide range of clients and issues on Beacon Hill, including energy, financial services, health care, technology, transportation, and cannabis policy.

Steve Brackett ’85 majored in Political Science and was a member of the Football. Steve is currently President, Managing Member & Co-Head of Alternative Investments at Shepherd Kaplan Krochuk, LLC (SKK) in Boston. SKK is a 20-year-old investment advisory firm with approximately $7.0 Billion of assets under management. The firm is also an active global alternative asset manager and investor with a focus in Life Sciences, Technology, and Real Estate development.
MODERATOR:

Becky Woods ’89 is a two-time EISA Coach of the Year, Becky, has been the head Nordic skiing coach at Bates since 1994. During her collegiate career at Bates, she was a two-time captain, participated in three NCAA Championships and was a member of the All-East team. Woods received the Auburn-Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame President’s Award in 1996 and has served on the NCAA skiing rules committee since 1998.
