Congratulations! We are very excited that you have decided to declare your major in biology!

Bates has a general procedure for declaring majors and you can find out that information here (FAQS) and in the catalog under which you matriculated.

Bio majors should make an appointment to see the biology department chair, Larissa Williams (x8202 or email to lwillia2) at which time any remaining administrative tasks will be completed and you will be assigned an academic advisor from the biology department faculty. As a welcome into the Bates biology community, you will be given a biology hat courtesy of the department. We hope you’ll wear it proudly and often!
