Express ideas using appropriate language, tone, punctuation, and grammar*
- Take courses requiring you to write lengthy papers
- Write for the Bates Student
- Become a Peer Writing and Speaking Assistant or Technical Writing Assistant
- Work part time for the Communications and Marketing Office or another department where you will gain experience producing written work
- Write a thesis
- Become a Research Assistant to a professor who is writing a book or article
