2005 Honorands
Continuing in the new tradition created in 2004, each honorary degree recipient will speak at the 2005 Commencement ceremonies. Five honorary degree recipients will speak at the College’s 139th Commencement: composer Thomas Jefferson “T.J.” Anderson, theoretical biologist Lynn Margulis, entrepreneur and engineer Paul Soros and his wife, Daisy M. Soros, and NBC Nightly News anchor and managing editor Brian Williams.
In the citation, each presenter builds the case for conferring the academic degree upon the honorand. Then, with wisdom, wit and brevity, each honorand addresses the graduates and audience.
