Mary Louise Kelly, a journalist and co-host of NPR’s All Things Considered and author of It. Goes. So. Fast.: The Year of No Do-Overs, will deliver the Bates College Commencement address
Kelly will receive an honorary degree alongside fellow honorands, Richard Blanco, an award-winning author and poet, and Clayton Spencer, a transformative leader in U.S. higher education and Bates’ eighth president.

The 158th Bates Commencement will be the first for President Garry W. Jenkins, who took office as the college’s ninth president on July 1, 2023
