Interviews

Typical Procedures

  • Interviews are scheduled for 15 minutes.
  • Interviews will be held by a minimum of three CSB members to be present and the BCSG-appointed secretary when possible 
  • During the interview, you will be given a timeline on when to expect an answer, this varies by the number of candidates and committees we are seating.

Questions

Candidates should expect to be asked some of the following questions:

  • What is your name, class year, major (if declared), etc?
  • In what way are you involved, or hope to become involved, on campus?
  • What is a challenge you’ve faced, and how did you approach it?
  • What life achievement are you most proud of?
  • What do you think is your biggest strength and weakness?
  • Describe a time when you were put in a position with conflicting viewpoints where you had to be judicious and unbiased.
  • Why are you interested in this position?
  • What qualities do you possess that would be helpful in carrying out the duties of this role?

Committee-specific questions will be created by CSB members with help from the hiring committee before the interview period; these questions will not be released to applicants.
