Lewiston is the second-largest city (pop. 36,000) in Maine. It’s on the Androscoggin River, about 40 miles north of Portland. Lewiston and its twin city, Auburn, are former mill towns with French Canadian roots, a vibrant Somali community and an entrepreneurial spirit.
