The Bates dining Commons was built to LEED Silver equivalent level, following guidelines to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Designed by Sasaki Associates, Commons allows the college’s dining operation to produce close to no waste while supporting local and organic food. Flexible spaces inside and outside the dining hall, including a Fireplace Lounge and meeting rooms on the second level. The building has meeting rooms ranging in sizes of 10-100.
