I hope the committee’s approach to “contributions to communities” will recognize faculty contributions to the elements of our mission most closely linked to public engagement: cultivating informed civic action and responsible stewardship. We do that in a wide variety of ways, that link to our teaching, scholarly and creative work, and governance work, and a mission-focused approach to recognizing those contributions could help clarify their significance in the T&P process.
