Student Affairs Committee
Charge of the Committee: This committee collaborates with the vice president for campus life on matters of shared concern. As educators in a residential college setting, Student Affairs staff support the personal development, health, and well-being of our students by providing cohesive programs and services. These programs and services should actively affirm our commitment to access, success, and inclusion of all students. The Student Affairs Committee provides a structure in which faculty, staff, and students work collectively to make improvements to the student experience as it relates to these programs and services, including, but not limited to: accessible education, campus life, campus safety, community standards/student conduct, counseling and psychological services, health services, intercultural education, purposeful work, residence life and health education, and student support.
Composition: Four faculty members, appointed in consultation with the vice president for campus life, four to eight students, with at least one student from every graduating year represented on campus; the vice president for campus life, ex officio; two associate deans of students, ex officio; the associate dean and director of the Office of Intercultural Education, ex officio; and one or more staff in the department of athletics, ex officio, designated by the director of athletics. The selection of the students should reflect the college’s intention of broad inclusion and engagement across the college community.
