The Faculty Handbook
The Bates College Faculty Handbook provides members of the faculty with information and resources to inform their work as teachers, scholars, advisors, and members of the faculty body. It also outlines information on faculty rights, responsibilities, and protections and defines the various roles pertaining to shared governance.
Faculty are encouraged to be familiar with the policies and procedures within this handbook. Questions and additional information may be obtained from academic departments and programs as well as the Dean of Faculty’s Office.
