About Campus Safety at Bates College

Open Position: Campus Safety Officer – Full Time
This hands-on position provides direct support for an increasingly diverse Bates College community utilizing excellent customer service skills. Campus Safety Officers will engage and support students, guests and stakeholders from historically underrepresented groups including students of color, LGBTQAIP2+ students, international students, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, and the student organizations dedicated to supporting these students on campus. Additionally, Campus Safety Officers will develop strong partnerships with various campus offices and key stakeholders to ensure continued positive, long lasting relationships within the Bates Community.
Open Position: Temporary Campus Safety Dispatcher
The Bates Campus Safety Dispatcher position is centered on the foundation of providing an excellent customer service experience; building relationships with faculty, staff, & students; engaging with the Bates community; and ensuring the safety and security of the Bates community through work on the Campus Safety dispatch line.
Open Position: Campus Safety Officer – Part Time
The Bates Campus Safety Officer position is centered on the foundation of providing an excellent customer service experience; building relationships with faculty, staff, & students; engaging with the Bates community at events; and ensuring the safety and security of the Bates community. The Bates Campus Safety Officer is expected to be a common presence on campus; serve on the communications line, respond to calls for service (both emergency and routine); enforce college policy through a student support, accountability, and community lens; prepare and submit incident reports.
