Steve Dillon received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1988.  His research focuses on film and popular culture.  He has published three books, Derek Jarman and Lyric Film, The Solaris Effect: Art and Artifice in Contemporary American Film, and Wolf-Women and Phantom Ladies: Female Desire in 1940s US Culture.  His current research looks at the representation of travel and space in postwar African American newspapers.
