Reminder for Virtual Meet-Ups and Summer Resources Opening Soon
Friday, June 23, 2023
Hello Class of 2027! We are just sending a quick reminder to you of 2 important things:
First – Virtual Meet-Ups Happening Soon
You can still meet up with fellow students and College staff. There are 4 meet-up opportunities:
June 26 at 7:00 PM EDT: Nervous about going to college? Get your questions answered and meet other classmates that are feeling the same way!
June 27 at 7:00 PM EDT: LGBTQIA+ Students: Are you looking for more information about what LGBTQIA+ student life is like on campus? Come meet with members of our Office of Intercultural Education, as well as current students, to learn more about our LGBTQIA+ community, resources, and support(s) on campus.
June 28 at 7:00 PM EDT: First Generation College Students: You are a first gen student if neither of your parents have a Bachelor’s (4-year) degree. Many staff, faculty, and students at Bates are first generation students so you will be in good company. In this session your hosts will answer many of those questions and help you start thinking about how to prepare to blaze your trail at Bates.
June 29 at 7:00 PM EDT: BIPOC Students: Are you interested in learning about what community and support for BIPOC students is on campus? Are you hoping to connect with and create community with other BIPOC students in the entering class? Come meet with staff and student leaders from the Office of Intercultural Education to build community and get your questions answered.

Second – Class of 2027 Summer Resources Opening Soon!
Your Class of 2027 Summer Resources Lyceum Page will open on Thursday, June 29, 2023. This is a critical resource that will help you prepare for your arrival at Bates in late August. It contains information on course registration for the Fall semester, academic exploration and general education requirements, a range of Bates community resources and supports, Bates’s history and commitments to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, and more. The resources are time-released throughout the summer with new information becoming available on June 29, July 10, August 9, August 16, and August 23. We will send you an email on June 29 with further instructions on how to access your Summer Resources Lyceum Page!
