Tuesday, June 3, 2025 –  Lyceum Summer Resources Part I (Welcome and FYE Values) opens. This section provides an important overview of the entire First-Year Experience.

Tuesday, June 10, 2025 – Lyceum Summer Resources Part II (Bates’s History, Mission, and Ongoing Commitment to Equity) opens. This section details important information about Bates’s History and Mission statement. It also addresses concepts of equity and inclusion that will be further explored in other parts of the First-Year Experience as well, such as during New Student Orientation and the First-Year Experience Workshops during the Fall semester.

Thursday, June 12, 2025 –  Bonner Leader Invitation Email sent to all new first-year students

Tuesday, June 17, 2025 – Lyceum Summer Resources Part III (Registering for Fall 2025 Classes: Academic Resources and Exploration) opens. This section provides everything you need to know in order to register for your Fall 2025 semester classes as well as information on academic exploration, on general education and degree requirements, on community-engaged learning opportunities, purposeful work and career exploration, pre-health career tracks, majors, minors, concentrations, and more!

Wednesday, July 9, 2025—Course selection for all Fall 2025 courses (including First-Year Seminars) begins at 9 AM. It is NOT first-come/first-served.  Students will be contacted by their personal course selection consultant via email on or near July 1, 2025 to set up a time to meet – via Zoom, email, or phone – during the course selection period (July 9 to July 23). Students are asked to select 1 top choice required First-Year Seminar or FYS (and 8 unranked alternatives) and 3 top-choice courses besides FYS (and 12 unranked alternatives). Course selection is NOT first-come-first served. You will be able to select your courses at any time between July 9 and July 23, 2025. NOTE: Many courses have multiple sections. Students need only put down 1 section in your list and the Registrar (who constructs students’ course schedules) will put students in any available section of that course that works for your schedule.

Wednesday, July 23, 2025 – Fall Course Selection closes and Consultation Period ends at 4 PM Eastern.

Tuesday, July 29, 2025 – Lyceum Summer Resources Part IV (Community Exploration, Expectations and Supports (Part 1 of 2)) opens. This section introduces students to some important community guidelines and different members of our community who lead resources such as the Bates Health Center and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Office of Intercultural Education, the Multifaith Chaplaincy, the Office of Campus Life, and more.

Tuesday, August 5, 2025 – Lyceum Summer Resources Part V (More Community Exploration, Expectations and Supports (Part 2 of 2)) opens. This section introduces students to more important community guidelines and different members of our community who lead the Harward Center for Community Partnerships, the Center for Purposeful Work, and more!

Friday, August 8, 2025 – Fall course schedules released (schedules frozen—students can alter their schedules when they arrive at Bates during the add/drop period, which opens on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 7 AM Eastern).

Tuesday, August 19, 2025 – Lyceum Summer Resources Part VI (We Can’t Wait to See You!) opens. This section will include some important last-minute information prior to Arrival Day on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Thursday, August 28, 2025 – Arrival Day and the start of on-campus New Student Orientation

Friday, August 29, 2025 — First meeting of students’ First Year Seminar or FYS (9 AM to 11 AM) and academic advising sessions. Academic and Resource Fair for all first-year students follows at 11:10 AM to 12:25 PM.

Tuesday, September 2, 2025 — Add/Drop Period (the two-week period during which students can make adjustments to their Fall 2025 course schedule) opens at 7 AM for all students. All-College Convocation ceremony is also today.

Wednesday, September 3, 2025 — First day of Fall 2025 classes for all students
