Barlow Photo Exhibit

If you have studied off-campus (semester, summer or year away, FSA, Off-Campus Short Term, Bates funded fellowships), we encourage you to submit a photo to the 23rd Annual Barlow Off-Campus Study Photo Exhibit which will take place in April 2025.

We are looking for geographic and subject diversity, color and black & white, point & shooters, and photo artistes. Pictures in which you are visible are welcome, as are pictures that highlight the academic and the immersion aspects of your off-campus experience. Please avoid photos which are intrusive, culturally insensitive, include children or individuals otherwise unable to give consent for their photo to be taken and displayed, or the common clichés.

The exhibit will consist of 40+ photos chosen from among the entries by an extraordinarily compassionate jury of your peers. The photos will be enlarged and matted (we pay for this) and hung on multiple floors of the Pettengill Atrium.  At the conclusion of the show, the enlarged and matted photos can be picked up as a gift to you.

Details:

  • Deadline for submission is Noon on February 3rd, 2025.
  • Digital submissions only.  It is your responsibility to ensure that your image can be enlarged to a 10×15 print.
  • Provide an engaging description of, or story about, the photo. At least 3 sentences long.
  • One entry per person. Participants on two programs (i.e. short term and semester abroad; academic year students on two different programs) may submit up to two photos. Please complete a submission form for each photo.
  • The Exhibit will open on Thursday, April 4th in the evening and continue to be displayed during the Mount David Summit Friday, April 4th, 2025.
