VOTING in LEWISTON on ELECTION DAY

Campus Housing by Ward

What to expect when voting in Lewiston on Election Day

The 2024 Elections will be a busy one, and we are encouraging students to give at least one hour for voting this year. Where you live on campus determines where you vote.

Already Registered to Vote?

If you registered to vote ahead of Election Day, you should go into the line based on the Ward you live in. At the Armory, there will be a line for voters in Ward 1 and another line for voters in Ward 3.

Need to register to vote?

Anytime a student moves dorms, they must re-register to vote. Bates students who are U.S. citizens and over 18 years old by Election Day are eligible to register and vote in Lewiston. Maine has same-day voter registration, which allows students to update their registration or register to vote for the first time in Maine.

What to bring to the polls:
Two Key Things: Your Bates ID and Smartphone (or a Printout from Garnet Gateway)

On Election Day, look for the Bates Votes student table outside of Commons. They will be handing out information, candy, stickers, and help prepare you for voting in Lewiston. Every 15 minutes students will be meeting here and walking over to the Armory. Every hour on the hour, a shuttle will be leaving from Commons to take students living in 96 Campus Ave & JB to Montello.
