John R. Cole Prize for Outstanding Achievement in History

The John R. Cole Prize for Outstanding Achievement in History was established in honor of long-time Professor of History, John Cole. It provides awards to support student work, such as travel to archives or conferences or acquisition of research materials.

The John R. Cole Prize for Outstanding Achievement in History is open to all Bates History majors and minors. Current juniors are encouraged to apply for the May deadline if they wish to do research during the summer prior to their senior year.

Awards will be made three times a year, and application deadlines of October 1, February 1, and May 15.

The application period for this cycle has ended. The application for this award will be available 15 days before the next deadline.
