Room Selection Dates

The Housing Selection Application is open! Apply now on Housecat.

All rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors that will be taking classes on campus should complete a HouseCat application and participate in one or more of the following processes.

If you are studying abroad or will not be at Bates in the fall, you should not fill out an application and instead read about the Winter Placement Process.

Entering first-year and transfer students will receive information on their housing placement in late summer.

Off-Campus Lottery  

Friday, February 2, 2024Off-Campus Applications open. 
Friday, February 16, 2024Off-Campus Applications are due.
Monday, February 26, 2024Off-Campus decisions sent out via email; waitlist begins for students not granted permission if necessary.
Monday, March 4, 2024Students granted permission must return agreement and potential address information.
Friday, May 3, 2024Final off-campus addresses and student liaisons are due.

New Neighbor Readiness Module is due.

Theme House Proposals

Thursday, January 25, 2024Theme House Applications open.
Mid to Late February 2024On-Campus Housing Applications open via HouseCat. All students must fill this out for fall housing.
Friday, February 16, 2024Proposals are due at 12:00 p.m. (Noon)
February Break (19-23 2024)Proposal decisions sent via email to coordinator applicants.
Friday, March 1, 2024Resident assignments and contracts are due from coordinators by 2:00 p.m. Coordinators must ensure every individual on the roster has filled out the HouseCat application.
