Short-Term Disability Leave and Benefit
The College provides both a short-term and long term disability benefit should you have a prolonged illness or injury.
Short-term disability provides for benefits of 75% of an eligible staff member’s salary for up to 180 consecutive calendar days (inclusive of the 30-day elimination period) of certified disability due to the same continuing condition. Short-term disability is paid through payroll and administered by the college. Short-term disability is designed to bridge the long-term disability elimination period.
Long -term disability provides a non-taxable benefit of 60% of salary following a 180 day elimination period. Long-term disability is an insured plan administered by an outside insurance company.
