RefWorks and EndNote Workshops
During first week of classes, Research Services staff will offer several introductory workshops for both RefWorks and EndNote in the Library by the public large screen. Start the new semester out right by setting up a citation management software to keep track of material for your papers and presentations.
Be sure to bring your own laptop or other device to one of the following:
Sunday, Jan 5th @ 7pm
Monday, Jan 6th @ 4pm
Tuesday, Jan 7th @ Noon
Weds, Jan 8th @ 7pm (including advanced topics)
Thurs, Jan 9th @ 7pm
As a Bates student you have access to RefWorks, a full-featured oniline tool that lets you insert citations and bibliographies into papers. You can collect, organize and cite bibliographic information from books, journal articles, blog posts, newspapers, CDs and DVDs — just about any kind of resource you might need to write a class paper or thesis.
This year the library will also provide support for EndNote Basic. While this free entry-level version of EndNote doesn’t have some of the more robust features of the full program or of RefWorks, it is easy to use, and might be the perfect solution for short papers.
Not sure which is right for you? Ask a librarian!
If you can’t make it to any of these, stop by the Research Services desk, or schedule an appointment with one of us on the library Ask Us Page
