October 21st – 27th, 2024 is International Open Access Week! The theme for this year’s celebration is a continuation of last year’s focus on Community over Commercialization. During this week each year we come together to raise awareness about the importance of making the results of scholarly research available Open Access. We take this time again in 2024 to critically examine the scholarly publishing landscape, and think about the ways we can support the best interests of the public and the academic community over for-profit entities.

Ladd Library is hosting a program during this Open Access Week for our Bates College faculty about the process for (and benefits of!) depositing their own scholarship into our institutional repository, SCARAB, in the effort to make it more Open. Register for the event here.
