The Bates Library sound recordings collection has a little something for every musical taste:

Love vinyl? The audio/video room has thousands of albums — and the turntables to play them. We also have 10,000+ CDs (many of which are rare and out-of-print) and hundreds of thousands of tracks in our streaming databases.

All of the CDs and LPs are in the library catalog, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. Just do a ‘word’ search for a performer, a group, or the name of a song/composition.

Although many of our online recordings are not yet available through the catalog, our four biggest databases DRAM, Music & Performing Arts Online, Naxos Music Library, and Naxos Jazz allow users to search in ways the catalog doesn’t — by mood, performer, instrument, culture, country, etc.
