Unfortunately we do not have the licensing that would allow alumni access to our online resources, e.g., JSTOR, from off-campus, but here are some alternative strategies you could consider.

• JSTOR now offers a Register & Read option that allows you to sign up to read a limited number of articles for free. When the limit is reached, you can contact your local public library for interlibrary loan options.
• Google Scholar allows you to search a large number of journal articles, many of which link to open access versions that are free to all. If there is no open access version, you may request a specific journal article from your local library through interlibrary loan.
• If you can get to campus, you’ll have total access to all our resources.
• If you can get to a nearby academic library, you may have access to their resources as a “library walk-in”. Be sure to call ahead to check on local policies.
• In the State of Maine, you could use all Digital Maine Library databases. These are accessible to all citizens through state funding, including some like Academic OneFile which have many full text articles.  A number of other states have similar arrangements; check with a local library.
• With the Unpaywall browser extension for Chrome, you can instantly search for an open access version of an article whenever you come across a paywall.
