Encyclopedia of Women and Islamic Cultures now online!
Bates recently purchased the online version of The Encyclopedia of Women and Islamic Cultures which we have owned in print for about 10 years. The online version will be continually updated with new relevant information.
This vast interdisciplinary reference work brings together the work of nearly 1,000 scholars who have written essays reflecting research on gender studies and the Islamic world. In its very thorough approach, it is also a significant resource for scholarship on music, film, art, literature, and law, as well as other topics in Islamic cultures, examining several regions from the period just before the rise of Islam to the present.
