Joe Barsky has a new gig: “After enjoying about 15 months of not working, I accepted a part-time job with the Univ. of Minnesota Carlson School of Business. Specifically, I am the program director for the Carlson Funds Enterprise, a business run by MBA students that manages about $15 million in fixed income and equity investments.” He’s also joined the board of Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota… Ivan Bass and Jan Hotaling Bass ’72, celebrate having only two years’ tuition left for their three children. Jan sings with Hanover Handel Society, and did a friendship chorus trip to Brazil over the summer…. Peter and Candi Yimoyines Hine tell people that they work and sleep in Connecticut, but that their house is in Maine. They’ve moved to a condo in Marlborough, Conn., and finished their house in Harpswell, Maine. “The biggest feat was getting my grand piano up into my second floor music loft in Maine. It took seven very strong guys but they did it!”… Francisco Mendizabal-Prem works as a professor in Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, the national university. He is working on two doctorates, one in educational measurement and evaluation from Universidad de Costa Rica and another one in psychometrics and statistics from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Madrid. He works via the Internet for the second degree, and will travel to Spain to defend his thesis when the time comes…. Jeff Thompson retired to a home overlooking Puget Sound two years ago. “Was on a hike last fall, and was surprised to see a Bates Outing Club patch attached to the pack as its owner swept past,” he writes. The pack was on the back of a recent graduate…. Kevin Wentworth lives on a golf course in Florida, and claims his handicap is “below 10.” When he’s not working on the golf course, he enjoys captaining a Boeing 747 for United Airlines.
