Scott King was one of 16 educators who received a Fulbright grant to participate in the International Education Administrators program in Japan. This program is three weeks of intensive seminars in the history and culture of Japan. He has recently moved to the Univ. of Iowa where he will be the director of the Office of International Students and Scholars, working with more than 2,200 international students and scholars…. The American Journal (Westbrook, Maine) recently called Valerie Lee “one of the foremost environmental lawyers in the nation.” She has published a book entitled Natural Resource Damage Assessment Deskbook: A Legal and Technical Analysis, co-written with PJ Bridgen, and described as “a comprehensive survey of the law and techniques associated with the law, science, and economics involved in natural resource damage assessment.” She works with Native American tribes in the Northwest to restore the Columbia River…. Ruth Nickerson Robbins is making a mid-life change by returning to school for a B.S.N./M.A. in nursing. Her two sons are in college (one at USC, the other at Vanderbilt). Ruth and her 15-year-old daughter live in Washington, D.C., and Ruth has gone back to using Nickerson as her last name…. Jim and Barbara Stetson Munkres have become grandparents for the first time. Granddaughter Rosemary was born in May to son Andrew and his wife Kristin. “Now I know why you’ve all been raving about grandparenthood!” she says.
