In the opening episode of the seven-part PBS series The Blues, blues singer and host Corey Harris traveled through Mississippi and on to West Africa, exploring the roots of the music. The episode, directed by Martin Scorsese, celebrated the early Delta bluesmen through original performances by blues legends and rare archival footage.
