Robert M. Bartley, V-12, sent us an update. He was in the last group of Navy V-12. After V-J Day, he was transferred to Dartmouth, returned to regular Navy duties in June 1946, then entered the U.S. Naval Academy, graduating in 1952. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 31 years. Once in the ’60s, he flew over the campus and picked out his dorm. In the late ’70s, he visited the campus with his wife on the way to a seminar where he was involved in the Energy Office of Delaware. “Bates was a good start for my college experience. We swam at the ‘Y’ in Auburn, marched back and forth weekly. Keep up the good work!”… Gene Woodcock suffered a stroke in mid-January 2001 that paralyzed his right side. Betty reports that he is making good, if slow, progress and remains cheerful and determined. Despite some memory loss, he remembers people and places. Betty encourages his friends to send cards to their home address, 13499 Paoha Rd., Apple Valley, Calif. 92308-3727.
