Alan Brown is an investigator in the Office of the Bar Counsel, the state agency that investigates and prosecutes attorney misconduct in Massachusetts. He’s in his first year at Suffolk…. Hollie Burroughs is pursuing a career in aviation. She worked her way up through flight instruction and will soon be captain on a turboprop at a small airline. Most of her days are spent flying around the Caribbean to places in the Bahamas, Haiti, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. … Vanessa Carroll has lived in Seattle, southwest Texas, and Colorado and has worked a slew of jobs including AmeriCorps volunteer, Upward Bound teacher, Amtrak Sightseer Lounge Car tour guide, bird bander, typist, house-cleaner, and dog-walker. She completed a master’s in creative writing at Colorado-Boulder, and now teaches English and creative writing at Boulder High School. She is working on a book based on solo walks across foreign countries, and so far has completed “research” in Guatemala, the Yucatan, Ireland, and Belize. Her self-published book of poems is entitled The Order of Saints, and she is working on a memoir/prose-poem manuscript about her Polish grandmother entitled, “After Brueghel and My Babci.”… Kristen Connolly has worked in molecular biology research for nearly three years. She lives in Oakland, Calif., and sings backup in a band and rock climbs…. Neva Corbo-Hudak and Thad Carlson were married in 2000 and have lived in Rochester, N.Y., for several years. She works in the Office of College Advancement at the Univ. of Rochester, planning events for alumni and current parents around the country. Thad, who is in the MD/Ph.D. program at the Univ. of Rochester, just finished his second year of medical school and is beginning his Ph.D. They are active in the Rochester Bates Club…. Mike Ferrari is back from two years in Guatemala with the Peace Corps. He works in Washington, D.C., as a legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman of New Jersey…. Carey Leigh Fister lives in Philadelphia, Pa., and is in her senior year at the Univ. of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine…. Kate Gibson finished her master’s in forensic psychology in May and lives in New York City…. Meghan Gullette Wells graduated from Lesley in May 2002 with a master’s in counseling psychology. She works as a high school guidance counselor in Attleboro, Mass…. David Kingdon is in his last year at UNC-Chapel Hill working towards a master’s in public health. He works at the Injury Prevention Research Center on campus and keeps up with EMS as a paramedic with Orange County Emergency Management…. Benjamin Kloda is in his second year of a master’s program in French linguistics at Indiana Univ. and plans to return to high school teaching after graduation. He spent this summer in France teaching in an IU-sponsored French language immersion program for Indiana high school students and hopes to return next summer…. Dave Klotz plans a June wedding. He works on the Chicago Exchange…. Chris LeBlanc is getting married in May 2003, and will graduate from medical school on June 7, 2003…. Jessica Lindoerfer is dusting off her skis and eyeing the Alps, now that she has moved from Amsterdam to Lucerne, Switzerland. She negotiates and books hotels in Paris for American and Canadian high school students traveling with EF Educational Tours, for whom she works…. Katie Lipp continues to work part time at an all-girls independent high school while she pursues her master’s in education, specializing in conflict resolution and peaceable schools. In the summer she spends occasional days facilitating youth groups on a ropes course. She traveled to Durban, South Africa, to attend the United Nations World Conference Against Racism, and to Honduras where she visited Amanda Bergstrom, who is finishing two years of service in the Peace Corps…. Jay Lively lives in France and is working as a chef…. Jessica Ludders works half time as a development and marketing coordinator for Passages Northwest, a non-profit that works to instill leadership and courage in girls and women through the outdoors. She also works half time with Dena Rigby Fine Arts and as a managing director of a fringe theater company called EXITheatre (www.exitheatre.com)…. Cali Mortenson recently received her master’s degree in public policy from the Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. She works in the Michigan state government as a special projects manager for the state Department of the Attorney General. She is engaged to Steven Ellis, a law student at Michigan State …. Although based in Boston, Tyler Munoz has spent the last 19 months in San Francisco working on the launch of Cisco Systems Inc.’s Web site, part of his work at Razorfish. Later this year he will go to Southeast Asia with the same group that brought you the infamous Central America trip…. Caleb Newman is attending graduate school at Fresno State…. When not in class, she works at the Council on Foreign Relations…. Pete Sanders is back in LA after two years in Austin, Texas. He is working on his master’s in journalism at the USC-Annenberg School for Communication…. Steve Simmons has returned to New York City from DŸsseldorf, Germany, where he lived for over a year. He works in advertising and is enjoying being back in the land of “open 24 hours.”… Following his June marriage to Sarah Gunn ’97, Greg Stoddard started a new job as the social worker for the Roxbury Boys & Girls Club…. Caitlin Sweeney finished an AmeriCorps program in South Carolina last year. She traveled around the south doing community service projects while living in Kentucky and Mississippi. She was also able to complete her certification as a chainsaw operator in the great state of South Carolina. She now works for a small nonprofit in Boston, supervising a group of high school students in an after-
school program. She reports, “Unlike numerous others, I am not engaged, nor am I likely to be in the near future, although I have attended so many weddings that I practically feel married myself.”… Sonia Szlyk is completing her last year of medical school at George Washington in Washington, D.C., and will apply for residency programs in anesthesiology…. Ben Tassinari has completed a CD called Ben Tassinari Wind in the Rigging. He plays banjo, mandolin, guitar, cello, and bones with his brother and father. She recently moved to Bethesda and in March was engaged to Jeff Voner (UCLA ’95). Their wedding is planned for May 2003…. Joseph Valente teaches English at James Madison Preparatory in Tempe, Ariz. and will be starting his Ph.D. soon (albeit part time, to be completed “within the next millennium”) at Arizona State. He is happily cohabiting and loving his dearest Rachele — an old childhood friend…. Alyssa Vitalius and Whit Kelley ’99 have lived and worked in “the Upper Valley” of New Hampshire for about four years. Whit completed an engineering degree at Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering in 1999 and Alyssa attended a business program at the Tuck School of Business. In 1999, Whit and Alyssa co-founded an electronic sensor company, SignalQuest. “Despite the long hours, we have managed to keep rock climbing and skiing/snowboarding in our lives,” she says.
