Ben Robinson, former chief privacy executive at Bank of America, has co-founded Innovative Risk Solutions, one of the first companies to help financial institutions address identity theft case management and compliance with new and emerging federal regulations. Ben is president and chief executive officer…. Major Mark Leahey has been recalled to active duty with the U.S. Army in Iraq. He is the executive officer of the 172nd Field Artillery Battalion, headquartered in Manchester, N.H., and was recently selected for promotion to lieutenant colonel. Mark is stationed at LSA Adder-Tallil in south-central Iraq, the same place he attacked during Operation Desert Storm. His unit has been given the mission of garrison command, and Mark is in charge of garrison safety, postal oversight and numerous investigations. “Contrary to the press, the Iraqis are very glad to have their freedoms,” he writes. “They want the army to stay until the country is able to stand on its own two feet.” There’s a darker side of the Tallil airbase, he says. The military base was Saddam’s in the Shiite area of Iraq. “Building No. 105 has a large oven that was used so extensively that the room is encased with soot and the metal hinges melted off. But none of the previous workers ever remember a single loaf of bread being baked there. The nearby prison was very active until Operation Iraqi Freedom, and many of Saddam’s mass graves are located nearby.” Mark can be reached at mark.w.leahey@us.army.mil. While he’s deployed, Michele (Wygant ’85) minds the home front with daughters Megan and Kaitlyn. Michele is a special education resource room assistant in their hometown of Rochester, N.H.
