Violi organized the event, one of a number held at campuses nationwide, in support of the U.S Senate practice of filibustering as the conflict over the tactic’s use against presidential nominees came to a head. Other students, faculty and President Elaine Tuttle Hansen also took turns in the 24-hour action.
