The Deansmen and Merimanders, Bates’ male and female a cappella groups, celebrate the 50th anniversary of their founding this year. In the annual celebration of Bates’ a cappella tradition, both groups performed in concert, along with the mixed-gender Crosstones and the all-male Manic Optimists, during Parents & Family Weekend on Sept. 28.
