For the 48th season, Bates College Orchestra’s first concert features two symphonies by the two prodigies of Western Classical music: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Felix Mendelssohn. Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony No. 35 and Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony No. 3 were written at the peak of their career, filled with lyrical passages and full of dramatic turns.
