Dr. Alan Carr directs the Brass Ensemble and teaches applied low brass lessons. Previously, he was on the music faculty at Concordia University Wisconsin.  Alan has performed with the Alabama, Baltimore, Dubuque, Hartford, and Portland Symphony Orchestras, the American Brass Quintet, the Isthmus Brass Ensemble, the King’s Brass, and Ensemble ACJW of Carnegie Hall. Since 2015, he has participated in the Southeast Trombone Symposium Professors Trombone Choir, comprised of trombone artist-faculty from across the country. In addition to his work at Bates, Alan is a founding member of the Sequenza Trombone Quartet. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, The Juilliard School, Yale University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
