Pandit Shubhendra Rao (sitar) and Maestro Saskia Rao (Indian cello) with Subroto Bhattacharya (tabla) will lead Bates students through an hour-long, hands-on workshop where they will discuss Indian playing techniques such as expression, phrasing, timbre, scales and rhythms. Please bring your instrument (it might pertain most closely to any string instrument, but all are welcome) and join the workshop. You are also invited to just observe in the audience; this event counts toward Applied Music Credit whether your participate or observe.
