Noonday Concert to feature Black Family Trio
The Noonday Concert series continues its season with a concert by the Black Family Trio on Tuesday Nov. 17, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the college’s Olin Arts Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
Composed of Bonnie Black and her children, violinist Mari, 12, and cellist Glenn, 10, the Black Family Trio is recognized throughout New England for its frequent performances on the concert stage and in schools, hospitals, churches, nursing homes and festivals.
A versatile musical family, the group also appears as the Electric Shoes Band, playing traditional fiddle music for contradances and folk performances, and has received awards from the National Music Teachers’ Association, the Arcady Music Festival, the Northeast Fiddler’s Association and the Cambridge Artists Competition.
