Steel-drum ensemble joins Javanese gamelan, African drum and dance for concert

The Bates Steel Pan Rhythm Riders will join the Bates College Javanese Gamelan Ensemble and performers of West African drum and dance for an evening of music from around the world at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall, 75 Russell St. The concert is free and open to the public. The performers are Bates students, staff, faculty and visiting artist Jody Diamond of Dartmouth College and the American Gamelan Institute.
