Maine Sunday Telegram notes emergence of Museum of Art’s Dan Mills as art leader
The Maine Sunday Telegram reports that Dan Mills’ appointment as director of the Bates College Museum of Art come with a renewed emphasis on the arts at Bates as part of a College-wide strategy. ”This is a wonderful situation,” Mills said, “one with many opportunities for the arts and the college.” He noted specifically the creation of a Bates Arts Collaborative at Bates. In another story, Portland Press Herald arts writer Bob Keyes reports on Mills’ attendance at a statewide “cultural summit” at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, where, “under a blanket of heavy mist, 75 artists, arts presenters, administrators and educators gathered…to share ideas, talk about their latest projects and, in many instances, simply introduce themselves.” View story from the Maine Sunday Telegram, Sept. 26, 2010.
