We don’t get our full names publicly announced that often, and even less often to an audience of several thousand.

But that’s what happens at Commencement. A few minutes before their full names would be announced, one by one, to the huge crowd in Merrill Gymnasium, we asked these Bates senior to explain what’s in a name…their name.
