Bates Magazine: Fall 2022
Here’s a flip version of the fall 2022 issue of Bates Magazine, which went in the mail last month.
The cover story and photograph, by Mary Pols and Phyllis Graber Jensen, respectively, of Bates Communications, features best-selling children’s book author and illustrator Matt Tavares ’97, who is taking a creative leap with his forthcoming book, Hoops. Using the graphic novel format for the first time, Tavares tells a story inspired by the true tale of a girls basketball team in mid-1970s Indiana.
If you’re an alum and seeing this issue makes you say, “Hey, I didn’t get my copy,” you can update your mailing address — or any contact information.
You can also submit a Bates Magazine class note and/or photo for the spring 2023 issue.
