Openings available in Bates' basketball camp

There are openings still available in both sessions of the Bates College basketball camp, led by Jim Murphy and Joe Reilly, Bates women’s and men’s basketball coaches respectively. The first session, held in Alumni Gymnasium June 22-26 from 8:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m., is open to girls and boys entering grades 3-8. The cost is $90. The second session, also held in Alumni Gymnasium, runs from June 29-July 2 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and is open to boys and girls entering grades 5-12. The cost is $160.

The Bates College basketball camps are designed to develop fundamental basketball skills for the appropriate age levels. Participants will be divided by age and skill level. Specific emphasis is placed on teaching offensive and defensive techniques and strategy and having fun.

Both individual and group instruction will be provided. Daily activities will include full-court game competition, skill development stations, lectures, demonstrations, contests for prizes and more.
