Min of Yangon, Burma, makes art that reflects her identity as a Chinese person raised in Myanmar and now living in the U.S.
Drawn to bright colors, she balances traditional patterns and pop culture in her work. Min arranges fabrics, tape and glitter into grids on canvas, manipulates these compositions in Photoshop, and returns to canvas for the final rendering. “The titles are the various names I am called in the different cultures I’ve been immersed in,” she says.
