Senior Exhibition artist Kaitlin Weinman ’12
Weinman of Califon, N.J., creates settings of “twisted domesticity” within cardboard boxes.
She builds the tableaux from cut-out pictures and assorted objects, and uses plastic birds for inhabitants. Weinman then photographs the scenes, exploiting the camera’s variable depth of field, focus and lighting. “By playing with lighting and adding masses of clutter,” she says, “I hope to make my photographs chaotic and unsettling.”
