The Global Lens film series at Bates College continues with "My Time Will Come," by Ecuadorian director Victor Arregui, with 8 p.m. showings on Friday, Oct. 2, and Sunday, Oct. 4, in Room 105, Olin Arts Center, 75 Russell St.

This photo was taken in the province of Manbi on the coast of Ecuador. After a long hike through the bosque seco and bosque nublado we stopped to cut platano and bananas to bring down to the house for our Ecuadorian-American feast.

Pianist and composer Vicente López performs a program largely based on the traditional music of his native Ecuador in a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall at Bates College, 75 Russell Street.
