This year's Translations international poetry festival celebrates cross-cultural communication with visiting poets from the Americas, Europe and Japan. The festival begins at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, with a welcome, readings and a reception in Chase Hall, 56 Campus Ave. Readings continue in Chase at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 29, and at 7:30 Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27-28. Writer-in-residence Farnsworth receives 2008 Kroepsch Award

In winning the 2008 Kroepsch Award for Excellence in Teaching, writer-in-residence Robert Farnsworth won praise from current and former students, including two alums who are prizewinning poets themselves. Farnsworth will deliver the Kroepsch address, "Psst!: Poems Teach Themselves," on Feb. 13.
