About the space

The OIE are located in Chase Hall, Suite 140. This space is accessible with an active Bates ID, 24/7.

The OIE is a communal space for students, as well as, a workspace. Thus, it is the expectation that student do their part in helping to maintain the space tidy and keep it accessible to use; this includes washing dishes, returning items to their proper homes, and placing furniture back to their designated locations.

Several spots in the OIE are reservable for meetings, events and programs. To check if a space is available to reserve for an upcoming program/event, review and submit through the Bates College Events Management System (EMS). If you are affiliated with a student club, you can complete this process on Bates Engage as well! Any questions to challenges accessing the EMS, you can contact us at oie@bates.edu
