Update on guest arrival protocols
Hello, Class of 2025 families –
We write with an important update to guest protocols for tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 26, when many of you will be arrving on campus with your first-year students.
Because we will be in close proximity with visitors travelling from across the US and around the world, all attendees at the President’s Welcome at 3:15 pm on Thursday must now wear a mask for the entirety of that event, regardless of vaccination status. The schedule for the day reflects this change, and students have received this update as well.
Please remember that all guests must wear a mask while indoors. In addition, to de-densify residence halls, guests must limit their time inside a student residence to one hour while their student is moving in. After this, we ask guests to leave the residence and enjoy time outdoors while on campus.
We also remind you that due to current protocols, the college store is open for in-person shopping only to those with a Bates ID; families should avail themselves of curbside pick-up.
Finally, because families must depart campus by 4pm this year, we will host all family orientation sessions online. Sign up using the links provided in our email to you.
All online orientation webinars will be recorded, with links/passwords shared via email following the conclusion of each event.
Safe travels to campus!
